Celine Dion, a Canadian, was born in 1968 in Quebec. She began singing in the eighties in France after releasing her first album in 1981 in French, “La Voix du Bon Dieu”, and a year later she participated in a music competition in Tokyo, Japan and received the first prize. In 1987 she produced another album called “Incognito” which was a huge success. In 1988, having lived in Switzerland for a while, she took part in the Eurovision Song Contest held there, which was won by the representative of Switzerland.
Celine Dion became internationally famous in the nineties after releasing her first English-language album in 1990, “Unison”. She returned to North America, worked in the United States and did several music works including a song for the Disney film Beauty and The Beast. The song “My Heart Will Go On”, which she recorded for the film Titanic in 1997, increased her worldwide fame.
Celine Dion is a Grammy and Juno Award winner.
Celine Dion has been married to her Syrian-born Canadian billionaire business manager Rene Angelil since 1994.
